The responsibilities of the position will begin in August 2008. The Music Director will be involved in all aspects of chorus operations including music selection, all rehearsals and performances, program budgeting, and working with the Board of Directors.
Our goal is to find a director who will enjoy working with our organization, a non-audition community chorus with a history of a high level of performance, including premiering of new works. Our group varies between 80 and 120 members, depending upon the piece performed. We have generally had 24 - 30 rehearsals on Monday evenings during the academic school year, along with two to three "retreats" on Saturdays, which offer opportunities for more in depth rehearsal outside of the work week. A paid accompanist is in place. The Music Director will be responsible for hiring instrumentalists for performances, as well as vocal soloists.
